NETFLIX’S new series digs into the emotional memories that ordinary people attach to items of clothing. It’s based on Emily Spivack’s bestsellin­g book of the same name and is produced by Jenji Kohan, creator of the prison drama Orange Is The New Black.

INTO THE ABYSS Expedition Deep Ocean, discovery+

AWE-INSPIRING new series that details an effort to dive to the deepest points in all five oceans, and to chart the landscape and extraordin­ary lifeforms which dwell there. It’s being driven by one man, the retired U.S. Navy Commander Victor Viscovo.

FACT-BASED FILM The Mauritania­n, Amazon Prime

KEVIN MACDONALD’S drama is based on the true story of Mohamedou Ould Salahi, who was held at Guantanamo Bay without charge for 14 years. Jodie Foster (pictured) and Benedict B Cumberbatc­h are mesmerisin­g as the lawyers on either side, as is Tahar Rahim R as the imprisoned Mauritania­n, even if the film itself is a little bland.

TUDOR COURTIER Cromwell’s Head, 9pm, 5Select

FEW seem more qualified to chart the life of Thomas Cromwell for TV than historian Tracey Borman — so passionate is she about ‘Henry VIII’s henchman’ that she named her dog after him. That passion comes across in her strong new history. (Freeview 55, Freesat 133, Sky 153, Virgin 152)

WHAT is Memo 618? Diane (Christine Baranski) takes on the issue head-on tonight, by . . . posting a question on an online message board. That sounds silly, but it’s part of a wider, practical approach that drives the story forward.

D’ARCY’S suspicions about alien-inhiding Harry (Alan Tudyk) bubble over in the finale to a comedy that will be back for a second series. Before that, Harry has a decision to make: will he press his button and end humanity? Or does he want one more pizza first?

A MARRIED couple take on the 14-day nude wilderness challenge as this U.S. series returns for a new run. Anna and Jered are fans of the show, and Anna sees it as a ‘once in a lifetime opportunit­y as a couple’. It comes with serious tests, though, and their survival skills are limited.
