Fast tests

-

THE plan for lorry drivers to take a Covid test within 48 hours of arriving in Britain doesn’t seem robust enough to stop the virus ‘washing up on our shores’. it would be far better to test drivers during the crossing.

A lateral flow test gives a result within 30 minutes and the shortest ferry route from Calais to Dover takes 90 minutes. This would reduce the chance of the virus entering the country and would not disrupt the movement of goods.
