WHAT TO WEAR THIS WEEKEND
IN THE PINK
OUR wardrobes are definitely due a little fun, and nothing says joy better than a bright pop of colour. This season it’s the turn of pink to enjoy a moment in the spotlight, more precisely fuchsia, which will add a bold sense of style whether it’s in the detail or worn head-to-toe as I’ve done here.
COLOUR SHOCK
FUCHSIA screams youth and vitality. Previously, you may have worried it was too reminiscent of Barbie, but this year designers have deemed it the perfect colour for our Freedom summer. roksanda Ilincic reimagined a puff- sleeved maxi dress in satin, while Valentino updated the oversized shirt into a silky fuchsia dream — perfect for dressing up.
DAY GLOW
These cheerful and lightweight cotton joggers I’m wearing from Next deserve an outing beyond the sofa, but rest assured they’re still comfy enough if you’re planning to stay on it while the spring weather warms up. If you’re concerned fuchsia might be challenging for your skin tone, the mix of shades in this chevron shirt by British designer Tabitha Webb will soften the look when worn close to the face.
LITTLE DETAILS
LOOK out for texture, like the pointelle knit pattern in this jumper from hush, I’m wearing over my shoulders, and the wrap tie blouse from hobbs (below) which is perfect for date nights. If wearing a whole outfit of eye-popping pink feels too much, accessorising with pink will give you the required energy lift, too.
