Look out! It’s those nosey huskies with their very own spy holes

- Daily Mail Reporter

THERE’S no use having watchdogs if they can’t watch anything.

So, to keep his nosey huskies happy, owner Andy Grannell drilled four sets of holes in the gates to his home.

That way they can keep an eye on what’s going on outside – while the sight of four noses and four pairs of eyes at the gates has been a big hit with passers-by.

Mr Grannell, 57, said he drilled the holes in the gates not long after he and his fiancee, Maxine Adamson, moved into the house in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, in 2014.

‘Initially, when we bought the house, there were no gates – but we needed gates there because of the dogs,’ he said.

‘But then we noticed that the dogs would poke their noses out the gap at the bottom of the gates. They’re quite nosey and they like to see what’s going on when they hear noise outside.

‘I thought it would be quite nice for them to be able to look out from their normal heights.’

Mr Grannell has five Siberain huskies – 12-year-olds Amber, Topaz and Talon, and three-yearolds Rocky and Vinnie.

He said: ‘The reason there’s only holes for four is because Amber is quite deaf now. So she doesn’t tend to run to the gates like the others when they hear sounds outside. But they all love the attention they get from passers-by who see them poking their noses and eyes out of the holes.’
