Nursery Rhyme For Our Time

-

Polly put the kettle on We’ll have a cuppa — curbs are gone, I’ll come inside your house anon — Soon freedom will come! I can’t hug you, not just yet, But we can sit down, don’t fret And have a lovely tete-a-tete — Soon freedom will come! A slice of cake would go down well, Expect you’ve got some — I can tell. For staying home has made you swell. Soon freedom will come! If you want to lose the weight, We’ll go back to that gym you hate And when we’re fit we’ll celebrate — Soon freedom will come! All in all we’ll soon be fine, We’ll hit the shops and spend some time Buying clothes and goods sublime — Soon freedom will come!
