When can I see my GP?

AFTER a year of lockdowns, it’s lovely to see shops, cafes and pubs back open. I can make an appointment with my optician, dentist and even my hairdresser, so why can’t I see my GP face-to-face?

Last year, I struggled to explain my symptoms on the phone to my GP. I eventually dialled 999 and was admitted to hospital where I was diagnosed with empyema, a serious lung infection that could have killed me.

I accepted the delay in getting medical attention because we were in the middle of the pandemic. But my patience is growing thin. I have an ongoing skin problem and still can’t see my GP.
