Out of the mouths of babes

FURTHER to the little girl called Erin, who thought the airing cupboard was named after her, my family had a ‘pirates’ cupboard in the kitchen. As my name is Roger and I was often referred to as Jolly Roger, it didn’t seem odd to me. It was some years before I realised it was where Mum kept her Pyrex dishes.
