Today’s poem

-

I stopped worrying today. This was the day I saw some light, A simple call, ‘Come straight away’ Gave me the strength to join the fight. I stopped worrying today. Helpful people at the door; They said they’d see me straight away. I threw my coat upon the floor. I stopped worrying today. Some gentle pressure on my arm, A small blue card to take away, The words could say: ‘You’re safe from harm.’ Found the strength to hold back tears, Went back home the normal way, Feeling better than for years. I stopped worrying today... Charles Hamilton,

Hythe, Kent.
