No10 ‘woke’ critic joins board
A FORMER No10 communications chief who said the BBC had been ‘captured’ by ‘woke-dominated group think’ is to join its board.
Sir Robbie Gibb, who worked for Theresa May when she was PM, spent 25 years at the broadcaster and headed BBC Westminster.
Last year he warned that lack of impartiality is ‘why the BBC is losing the trust of its audience’. He said election coverage bombarded listeners ‘with a relentlessly negative and sneering tone and painted a picture of Britain that was monstrously out of touch’.
Sir Robbie, who worked at No10 from 2017 to 201 , was chosen for the paid role by the Government.
He said: ‘The Corporation has a big job to reform and make sure it once again becomes the gold standard for broadcasting impartiality. I am privileged to have the chance to play a part in helping the BBC achieve that.’
