Top track meet leaving London ATHLETICS

- RIATH AL-SAMARRAI

UK ATHLETICS are in advanced talks around moving the Anniversary Games on July 13 away from the London Stadium. The governing body are locked in a row with the venue’s owners, the London Legacy Development Corporation, who earlier this month said they did not want to splash out £3million of taxpayers’ money to reconfigure the arena for a one-day meet. In response,

UKA threatened legal action for breach of contract, but they are now close to agreeing a £1.5m pay-off to take the Diamond League event elsewhere, possibly Gateshead or Manchester.
