Women who fell prey to serial killer and his wife
FRED West was accused of murdering 12 women and wife Rose was convicted of murdering ten – but the pair are believed to have killed up to 20 more.
Many were buried in the back garden of their Gloucester home, which became known as the ‘House of Horrors’.
Confirmed victims include: Anne McFall, 18, nanny for Fred and his first wife, Rena Costello. She vanished in 1967 while eight months pregnant. Charmaine West, eight, Fred’s stepdaughter from his first marriage, murdered by Rose in 1971 while Fred was in prison for car tyre theft. Rena Costello, 27, murdered when she arrived to pick up daughter Charmaine. Lynda Gough, 20, a lodger. She was killed in April 1973. Rose told her mother she had moved to Somerset. Carol Ann Cooper, 15, who was in care and disappeared while walking home from the cinema in November 1973. Lucy Partington, 21. The student, a cousin of novelist Martin Amis, was abducted on December 27, 1973, as she caught a bus after spending Christmas with her family in nearby Cheltenham. Therese Siegenthaler, 22, a student living in south London who disappeared in April 1974 while trying to hitch-hike to Ireland. Shirley Hubbard, 15, who disappeared on her way home from college in Droitwich, Worcestershire, in November 1974. Juanita Mott, 18, a former lodger at 25 Cromwell Street, who disappeared in 1975. Shirley Robinson, 19, another lodger, killed in 1978 after she fell pregnant by West. Alison Chambers, 17, who disappeared in August 1979. Her remains were found beneath the patio at 25 Cromwell Street. Heather West, 17, who had been repeatedly raped by her father and was killed after complaining to friends about the abuse.
