SUMMER IS A-COMING

I think I’m being bitten, It happens every year, As soon as the sun comes out And clouds begin to clear. I’ve tried all the spray stuff, The creams that should repel, But flying, biting insects Seem attracted by the smell. I’ve rubbed my skin with menthol, Round my neck I’ve hung some mint, So my ankles don’t get bitten They’re wrapped with tape and lint, I’m almost scared to go outside Where wasps and midges await me, There are hornets and flying ants And horse-flies aggravate me. So I’ll stay indoors and won’t go out, I consider that is clever. Summer soon will pass, I hope, I much prefer cold weather!
