Rolls’ boss age concern

-

ROLLS-Royce boss Warren East reckons his staff are getting on a bit.

Speaking at the CogX tech conference, he added: ‘You have to get the people on side. Joining Rolls [in 2015] one of the challenges was our workforce was frankly a bit too old.’

He added: You need to get the younger people engaged.’ Rolls later said East, 59, was not suggesting older staff found it hard to deal with its ‘net zero solutions focus’, adding: ‘What he is clear on is that we need to do better at attracting and retaining the next generation of talent.’ East last year axed 9,000 jobs following the collapse in air travel.
