‘Drug’ priest’s acid attack on 7 bishops
A PRIEST attacked seven bishops with acid during a disciplinary hearing after he was accused of drug trafficking.
Theofylaktos Komvos, 37, poured the liquid from a twolitre bottle over senior members of the Greek Orthodox Church in Athens.
The bishops, who were considering defrocking Komvos, were rushed to hospital after suffering burns to their faces and hands. A police officer, lawyer and another clergyman were also injured before Kombos was arrested.
Witness George Tzikas said: ‘The place was full of blood. It was insane.’
