Palace target Favre gets cold feet
LUCIEN FAVRE’S proposed appointment as Crystal Palace manager was thrown into doubt last night after the Swiss coach had second thoughts over taking the job. The 63-year old former Borussia Dortmund boss was widely expected to sign a three-year contract to succeed Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park after positive talks with chairman Steve Parish. However, after taking more time to consider his decision, it is understood the experienced Favre has reservations about the role and what is entailed. Palace have a limited transfer budget and face a squad overhaul with a number of ageing players out of contract while several youngsters are pushing for first-team integration.
