DATING PAST?

I’ve had two long-term relationships, each lasting seven years. My first partner and I entered into a civil partnership when I was 19, but we broke up when I was 26.

things fizzled out with my last partner during lockdown, and we ended up as friends instead.

unlike a lot of people, I’m enjoying dating during the pandemic because it means I can get to know people virtually first.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

I’M confident when I’m doing my job, but in my personal life I can get nervous.

I’m the only one in my social circle who is single. I have plenty of female friends who are always trying to hook me up with guys. In fact, it was my female flatmate who put me forward for this.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

Luca was at our table before me. I’d arrived on time, even though there was a bit of a wait to get in. Initially I didn’t feel any attraction towards Luca. He has a nice smile, though.

EASY TO TALK TO?

Luca was nervous so I had to lead the conversation at first, but he relaxed when we found out that we have friends in common. I live in Brighton and he doesn’t live too far away.

We met on his 31st birthday, and he did make me laugh about what he had got up to over his birthday weekend. We both reminisced about the same clubs we’ve been to. I’m amazed we’ve never bumped into one another.

There were none, thankfully.

no, But I’d like to see Luca again as a friend — he’s a funny guy. I think he’ll feel the same way. He mentioned going cycling together and I’d enjoy that.

Yes, platonically, as we live relatively near one another.
