Does new Question Of Sport line-up hit the target?

- Mrs M. NuNN, Lymington, Hants.

OVER the years, my wife and I have enjoyed watching the BBC’s A Question Of Sport. It has been very much a sports quiz with great sportsmen and women taking part and has had many memorable moments. We were saddened when it was announced that presenter Sue Barker and team captains Phil Tufnell and Matt Dawson were being replaced, but we were prepared to give the new cast and format a chance. How disappointing that presenter Paddy McGuinness, who is not a sportsman, but a comedian, is scruffy and seems to lack charm or engagement. The two captains, sportspeople of the highest order, did their best, but it was no better than an afternoon game show.

GEOFF ROBINSON, Bristol. WhATeVeR you may think of Paddy McGuinness as the presenter, team captains Sam Quek and Ugo Monye are worth a second chance.

DAVID GRACE, Bourne, Lincs. I AM all for change where necessary, but Paddy McGuinness will never replace the wonderful Sue Barker. The contestants seemed to be struggling with the questions and the new format simply didn’t work. Phil and Matt must have been cringing. Another waste of TV licence money trying to improve a programme that didn’t need to be changed.

CHRISTINE O’BRIEN, Eynsford, Kent.

PLeASe bring back the original line-up of A Question Of Sport. Nothing can compare with the natural repartee of Sue, Matt and Phil. This new team’s forced humour doesn’t work for me.

D. WOODWARD, Biggleswade, Beds. THERE have only ever been a couple of BBC programmes I watch, one of them being A Question Of Sport. Sorry, I don’t enjoy the new version. Bring back Sue Barker!

BOBBIE VANSTONE, Budleigh Salterton, Devon. I USeD to laugh from start to finish at A Question Of Sport every week. But after tuning into the new series with a different line-up, I won’t be watching again.
