THE NHS wants to pay up to £270,000 to hire chief executives ‘to deliver joined-up services’ across the NHS and social care and to be ‘politicall­y astute’ and ‘actively champion diversity, inclusion and equality of opportunit­y for all’.

What have those in senior positions been doing all this time to meet these standards?

IT HASN’T even got the extra money yet, but the NHS is recruiting 42 chief executives on salaries up to £270,000. Words fail me.
