RUNNING to music of your choice could help you exercise for longer, say researchers at Alicante University in Spain.

In a study, nine men were asked to run 5km with and without music.

Listening to music of their choice was found to reduce the runners’ mental fatigue — restoring their speed and the length of time they ran for to a similar level as when they were not tired (measured before the trial). This might be because their perception of effort was altered by the music, reports the Journal of Human Sport and Exercise.
