No holiday for teachers
IT’S been suggested that teachers should give up some of their long summer holidays for staff training (Letters). This plan is 20 years out of date. That’s exactly what we did when we gave up a full week of holidays for training.
Don’t forget, teachers don’t use the holidays as free time — for most it’s an opportunity to plan lessons, revise work schedules and do many other tasks that are not possible when pupils are around.
