It’s just like the summer... raining again!
TORRENTIAL rainfall caused flash flooding and travel chaos in parts of England yesterday as the disappointing summer resumed.
One of the worst hit areas was London, where vehicles forged their way across standing water on Tower Bridge and commuters waded through ankledeep puddles at Victoria Station as they avoided being splashed by cars.
A woman uploaded a video of waves moving across the landmark bridge, writing: ‘not 100 per cent sure how a bridge floods but this was Tower Bridge just now.’
The heaviest rainfall was in Cambridge, which saw 1.9in in a six-hour period to 3pm. Heacham in norfolk had 1.1in during the same period and St James’s Park in London was drenched by 0.8in.
