AMATEURS attempt to replicate the work of masters in this returning U.S. contest (hosted by Nicole Byer, pictured). The results are often awful, and that’s the point — this show celebrates people who are willing to give it a shot, and revels in the errors.

Measuring Mass: The Last Artefact, 9pm, BBC4
A UNIVERSAL language of measurement is very important, but there’s a problem with one item — the kilogram, the mass of which is still tied to a single ‘hunk of metal’ in a vault in Paris. That hunk is decaying, and this documentary explores the headache that ensues.

IT’S all happening in this week’s new episode of the breezy thriller, from relationship struggles for Will (Scott Foley, pictured) and British agent Emma (Ophelia Lovibond), to grief and a complete personality transplant for one of the team. The action is a lot more vicious, too, and there is a big final scene.

FOR the last of their lovely cruises, Sheila Hancock and Gyles Brandreth ease themselves down the Peak Forest Canal towards Manchester. They try their hands at dry stone walling, learn about hat-making and, in Burnage, Sheila visits the childhood home and school of her late husband, John Thaw.

AS A man for whom public embarrassment holds no apparent fear, Richard Madeley is the perfect guest for Rhod Gilbert’s show, in which the comic asks guests to dredge up awkward teenage memories. Here, Richard talks about his mum’s underwear catalogue.
Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted, 9pm, National Geographic
USUALLY, Gordon Ramsay is in charge on TV. This returning culinary travelogue relishes the opportunity to flip that situation as the chef is made to herd cattle in Texas, a place where the locals take danger in their stride. Later, he must cook to impress these not easily impressed folk.

AS SKY’S comedy continues, DI Major’s memory has gone haywire, and it won’t be fixed — the police have decided they’re better off without the ‘organic element’. So, a new and purely robotic AI joins the force, voiced by Richard Ayoade. How long before it turns evil?
