Time to take action

-

dURING the lockdowns, the police were only too eager to stop and fine members of the public for minor infringements of Covid regulations.

However, they seem to be lenient with Extinction Rebellion protests and Insulate Britain, who blocked the M25.

They even dragged away an irate driver, but left the protesters alone. No one wants to see heavy-handed policing, but something needs to be done. Just standing around, talking to protesters, but doing nothing to clear them, is not acceptable.

It’s unlawful to obstruct a road, but how many of those who were eventually arrested will serve a sentence?

With hundreds of motorists stuck for hours, disruption was certainly not kept to a minimum by the police doing nothing.
