Right to protest
ONCE again we’ve seen unwarranted disruption by protesters.
The right to protest must be protected at all costs, but why can’t a purpose-built facility for demos be created with road and rail links?
This would be a win-win. Protesters would get publicity for voicing their disapprovals, the right to demonstrate would be protected, there would be little disruption for the public and businesses, the safety of the demonstrators would be ensured and it would be a vast saving for police and local authority resources.
