What a waste
OVER the years, my family has accumulated several items of medical and other equipment supplied by the NHS, from crutches and knee braces to raised toilet seats and foot supports. However, it has proved impossible to return them once they are no longer required.
Multiply this by the number of orthopedic operations carried out each year and the cost involved must be astronomical.
Surely, with the move to encourage
recycling, no longer needed medical aids could be cleaned and reused at very little cost, with huge savings for the under pressure NHS.
