CRISTIANO RONALDO scored again last night, to add to his Premier League brace at the weekend. Here are some of the numbers behind his return to European action with Manchester United:

177 IT was his 177th Champions League appearance, tying the record set by former Real Madrid and Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas. He can break the Spaniard’s record against Villarreal two weeks today.

135 HE already holds the Champions League goals record:

▪ 63 of his goals were after turning 30, 35 more than any other player in their 30s.

16 IT’S the 16th straight season he has scored in the Champions League, which is a tied record with Messi and Benzema, though the Argentine can make it 17 if he scores this season for PSG.

36 ANOTHER record tied with Messi: Young Boys are the 36th team Ronaldo has scored against in this competitio­n.

PS THE gap between his European goals for United was 4,515 days, since a brace at Arsenal in May 2009.
