Brenda — who works at Oxford’s Environmen­tal Change Institute and is the author of Fuel Poverty: From Cold Homes to Affordable Warmth — tells Jim Al-Khalili (pictured) how she got her degree relatively late in life, and why she thinks that has helped her to take a pragmatic approach to her work.
