MY FOUR-YEAR-OLD grandson, noah, lives in an agricultural area on the Ayrshire coast. his passions are tractors and sea ferries, and he has lots of toy models of both. Intrigued by this, I asked him what he would like to be when he grows up. The reply? ‘An adult!’ There’s no answer to that.
