Buzz in the boiler

WE ARE encouraged to have bee-friendly plants in our gardens and councils are leaving verges and central reservations uncut.

But as a gas service engineer, I daily see a massacre of bees, who have died after crawling inside boilers in search of sanctuary and warmth.

Manufacturers should put mesh on the flue terminal to prevent bees entering.
