AN UNUSUAL item on the agenda of the Premier league meeting last week. The producers of us smash-hit comedydrama Ted Lasso have been in touch to see if they can use official footage for their next series.

The show follows the trials and tribulations of lasso, a quirky college American football coach who is hired to coach an English soccer team as part of an attempt by its owner to spite her ex-husband.

The programme recently picked up the Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding comedy series.
