JOSE RANTS AT REF AS HE LOSES ROME DERBY

- BY ASHLEY GRAY

JOSE MOURINHO lost his first Rome derby, as a player he ruthlessly axed came back to haunt him. Pedro became the first player in 40 years to move across the capital when he left ROMA for LAZIO last month and the winger scored the controversial second as his new side won 3-2 last night. Already behind to an early Sergej Milinkovic-Savic goal, Mourinho was furious that Roma were not awarded a penalty when Nicolo Zaniolo went down. Lazio then attacked and Pedro scored for Maurizio Sarri’s side. ‘A fantastic game was ruined by the referee and VAR, who were not at the right level for this match,’ fumed Mourinho. Felipe Anderson scored Lazio’s third between goals by Roger Ibanez and Jordan Veretout. Paulo Dybala and former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata will miss the Champions League match at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday after both came off injured as JUVENTUS beat Sampdoria 3-2. PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN made it eight league wins out of eight by beating Montpellier 2-0 at home, with goals from Idrissa Gueye and Julian Draxler, ahead of facing Manchester City tomorrow. VILLARREAL, who go to Manchester United on Wednesday, were the better side in a goalless draw at Real Madrid. Veteran PORTO defender Pepe missed their 2-1 win at Gil Vicente on Friday and is a doubt to face Liverpool tomorrow.
