Just Eat role for MasterChef’s Wallace ‘is within BBC rules’
PRESENTERS have to be careful not to fall foul of the BBC’s ban on using screen roles for promotional work.
However, Gregg Wallace has been allowed to link up with fast food delivery giant Just Eat – despite his job co-hosting MasterChef. BBC bosses decided the deal did not breach its rules.
Wallace, 56, is not currently on air with MasterChef. Chef Michel Roux Jr, 61, left MasterChef: The Professionals in 2014 after appearing in adverts for a brand of potatoes.
This year DIY SOS host Nick Knowles used his link to the series in a cereal ad. He missed Children In Need as a result but has now returned to the show.
