BBC silent over extra tests for Strictly dancers
THE BBC last night refused to say if the Strictly contestants will receive extra Covid tests after two dancers came up positive on Sunday.
McFly singer Tom Fletcher, 36, and his professional partner Amy Dowden, 31, are now selfisolating for ten days separately.
They will miss this Saturday’s live show but are expected to return the following week.
Production staff previously said all dancers would be tested once a week but did not say if there would be any further testing this week.
Fletcher and Miss Dowden scored 21 points for their cha-cha-cha on the first live show of the BBC1 series on Saturday.
Fletcher, who is also missing the final days of a McFly tour, yesterday shared a snap on Instagram of his wife Giovanna ‘checking up’ on him through a window as he isolated.
Last year, ex-Olympic boxer Nicola Adams had to drop out after her partner Katya Jones tested positive. A Strictly spokesman said: ‘Among the many measures in place on Strictly, the dancers are tested regularly to be in close contact with their partners.’
