The steak was almost as good as sex... almost!

- Interviews: SAMANTHA BRICK

LORENZO, 39 VITAL STATISTICS

SINGLE for two years with twin boys, six.

CURRENT ROLE SURGEON. WOULD LIKE TO MEET

SOMEONE independent and clever. I’m 6ft 2in and prefer girlfriends who are tall, too.

DATING PAST

I’ve never had a long-term relationship, the longest I’ve been with someone is a year.My surgical training came first during my 20s and in my early 30s I relocated from Naples to London. My children were a happy surprise, they live with their mother and I see them on a regular basis.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

Not at all. I don’t want to minimise the date though because I was curious and excited about meeting my match.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

NICOLE is a beautiful, confident woman who has an attractive figure.she made a good first impression and was wearing a lovely dress.

EASY TO TALK TO?

MAMMA mia, yes! the date started well because we both ordered meat.We enjoyed the steak, which was almost as good as sex.I was curious about Nicole’s job as an actress, but I don’t watch tv, so she showed me a couple of series she had been in. Nicole is from a family of doctors too, so she understands the kind of working life I have had.We touched on my hometown of Naples. I like that she was knowledgeable about Latin and ancient Greek.I’m teetotal, but I was fine with Nicole having a couple of glasses of wine. I stuck to diet coke and cappuccino.

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS?

No. at this stage of my life it is almost impossible to get embarrassed.

DID SPARKS FLY?

I DON’T want to be mean about Nicole because she is fabulous and the four hours we spent together were truly pleasant, but sadly I didn’t feel that spark.

SEE THEM AGAIN?

NICOLE is a charming woman.she is beautiful, intelligent and good fun. that’s why I’d see her again as a friend.

WHAT DO YOU THINK SHE THOUGHT OF YOU?

SHE seemed to be happy to have met me and we have messaged one another since the date. I sent her a clip from the eddie Murphy film coming to america; it’s one of my favourites. We’d talked about it at the restaurant and I wanted her to see it.

WOULD YOUR FAMILY LIKE HER?

yes, of course. she’s a confident, intelligent, beautifully proportioned woman in the prime of her life, not a silly insecure twenty-something.
