Police the police

-

RETIRED Met police officer Chris hobbs is right that the Government, media and public must not jump with alacrity onto the bandwagon of condemnation (Letters).

this is counter-productive and will lead to decent police officers losing morale and leaving the force. their daily duty of care and bravery often goes under the radar.

yes, initiate the necessary reforms and get rid of the bad apples, but don’t undermine much-needed police officers. that won’t help the public they are endeavouring to protect.

JUDITH A. DANIELS, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.

LISTING all the good done by police officers does not absolve them from public criticism for their wrongs.

TREVOR HOWARD, Wolverhampton, W. Mids.
