Falling for fraud
WHILE I am sorry for those who have fallen for scams and lost a considerable amount of money (Money Mail), I find it hard to believe people are still being taken in by bogus calls, emails and texts.
We have been warned for years about a scammer posing as a bank official telling us we must move our money to a new account.
As for the Royal Mail scam, when we order goods online, a postage or delivery charge is included in the price, so there is no reason for any further fees to be paid.
With calls to my landline, as soon as I know it’s not a friend, the receiver is put down. the belief that the british are afraid of seeming rude doesn’t apply in my house!
