JOFRA’S SIX OVERSEAS T20 WORLD CUP STARS TO WATCH

-

RASHID KHAN (AFGHANISTAN)

MY SUSSEX team-mate is a game-changer with bat and ball. His wicket-taking ability and economy rates speak for themselves and he can single-handedly win a match. An extremely dangerous hitter at the back end of an innings too, as he showed with 27 off nine balls in the Twenty20 Blast quarter-final win over Yorkshire.

KAGISO RABADA (SOUTH AFRICA)

A BOWLER who is very good at the top, in the middle or at the end of an innings. Wherever he bowls, you know he’s going to be reliable. He is quick, can take wickets with the new ball and is good at taking the pace off towards the death. A solid, consistent performer.

WANINDU HASARANGA (SRI LANKA)

A LEG SPINNER who possesses excellent variations — and they can be very hard to combat on slow, turning pitches. Someone the cricket world should be keeping an eye out for.

QUINTON DE KOCK (SOUTH AFRICA)

HE CAN hit the ball anywhere, really. Even into places you don’t expect. He’s not scared of letting you see that he’s trying to do it, either, and that can get into a bowler’s head. Likes a battle.

ANDRE RUSSELL (WEST INDIES)

HE CAN change the look of a game at the back end, boosting the run rate from six or seven an over to 13s and 14s on his own. An extremely powerful man. Some of his six-hitting is ridiculous, frankly.

SHAHEEN SHAH AFRIDI (PAKISTAN)

BEING a left-armer he challenges batters from a different angle, swings the ball and can bowl decent change-ups later on in an innings. Standing at 6ft 6ins, he also extracts bounce out of pitches that others can’t.
