Team GB’s naked ambition

BRITISH medal hopes at the Winter Olympics will be led by a topless model after the curler Bruce Mouat was named as part of Team GB yesterday. Mouat, who posed shirtless in a swimming pool in the 2020 Men of Curling calendar, was among the first group of six athletes named in the squad travelling to Beijing in February. He will skip the men’s team of Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan, which currently sits third in the world rankings. Ross Whyte was picked as an alternate. Mouat will also team up with Jen Dodds in the mixed doubles event. The pair won the mixed doubles World Championships earlier this year and so will be among the handful of genuine British medal prospects in Beijing. ‘We’re obviously going to aim really high when we’re there and we’re hoping to come home with some medals,’ said Mouat.
