AS the United States prepares to open to fully vaccinated travellers from early November, British Airways has launched a flight sale to destinations across the country that runs until October 27. Discounted return fares from Heathrow include to New York from £310 and to Los Angeles from £330. Business-class seats are also on offer with a return to Boston from £1,473. The travel period extends to summer 2022 (ba.com).

NEW BARBADOS ROUTE

AER Lingus will begin flights from Manchester to Barbados next Wednesday, departing three times a week. The beachfront Bougainvillea Barbados resort in Christchurch is offering up to 25 per cent off room rates in 2022 for bookings made by October 31 (aerlingus.com, bougainvilleabarbados.com).

TUI TAKES OFF

FLIGHTS to the Turkish holiday resorts of Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum and Izmir are being resumed by Tui today. Routes to Cancun in Mexico, Jamaica and Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh start tomorrow with the Cape Verde islands following on October 23. The carrier is already flying to another six European countries, as well as Morocco and St Lucia (tui.co.uk).

SINGAPORE LINK

A DEDICATED ‘Vaccinated Travel Lane’ is being introduced by Singapore for fully vaccinated travellers from the UK on October 19. From that day, Singapore Airlines will operate a designated daily flight from Heathrow with unvaccinated children aged 12 and under also permitted to fly (singaporeair.com, visitsingapore.com).

SOUTH AFRICA OPENS

VIRGIN Atlantic is increasing flights to South Africa following the country’s recent removal from the Government’s red list. Services from Heathrow to Johannesburg will depart daily from November 8, while a route to Cape Town will commence on December 17 — operating three times a week with fares starting at £578 return (virginatlantic.com).

ROME ON A BUDGET

WIZZ Air is now flying from Luton to Rome four times a week with fares starting at £8.99 one way. Guest house, Residenze Argileto, is well-placed for exploring the Eternal City and boasts a roof terrace, cafe and contemporary doubles from £73, room only (wizzair.com, argileto.it).

£10 QATAR STOPOVERS

QATAR Airways is offering passengers the chance to stop over in capital Doha from just over £10 a night per person. The packages are open to fully vaccinated travellers who have an onward destination and can include up to four nights, staying in a four or five-star hotel (qatarairways. com/stopover).
