THE long-awaited
Tesla Model Y n
smaller SUV, pictured, has finally gone on sale in the UK, priced from £54,990.
After a two-year wait, UK customers can order two versions of the all-electric Model Y on Tesla’s website, says the car firm founded by Elon Musk. The entrylevel version is the Model Y Long Range all-wheel drive with a range of 315 miles. It accelerates from rest to 60mph in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 135 mph.
A more powerful Model Y Performance priced from £64,990 follows mid-year with a 298 mile range and top speed restricted
to 155mph — but with rest to 60 mph acceleration in 3.5 seconds — the same as a V10 Audi R8 supercar. Neither qualifies for a plug-in car grant.
