Peaty almost kisses Katya – and look at his girlfriend’s reaction
LAST week they found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard.
But Adam Peaty and Katya Jones made a triumphant return to the dance floor on Saturday night with an Argentine tango so intense that fans were convinced they had almost shared a kiss.
The Olympic swimmer, 26, and his professional partner, Miss Jones, 32, set pulses racing with their sexy routine to Fleetwood Mac’s Tango In The Night.
Their performance was lauded as ‘brilliant’ and ‘a huge comeback’ with all four judges scoring them an eight – making them joint second on the leaderboard.
TV viewers were equally impressed, praising the pair’s chemistry – with many noting how they ‘nearly kissed’ at the end of their routine.
Peaty’s girlfriend Eirianedd Munro, 23, with whom he has a one-year-old son George, joked about the moment, sharing a video of herself on TikTok pretending to cry, with the caption: ‘Watching your boyfriend almost kiss another woman on live TV.’
In a video posted earlier on Saturday, Miss Munro had given a sinister look to the camera while an audio clip said: ‘If I see you with another girl, I’ll kill her.’
Peaty’s performance caused speculation on Twitter that he had moved in to kiss Miss Jones. As their routine ended, he held Miss Jones as she dipped towards the ground, their chins touching. And the pair appeared to get even closer as they stood up, with their lips almost touching as he whispered ‘well done’ before quickly pulling away.
Yesterday, in a Twitter post seemingly addressing the rumours, the swimmer wrote: ‘My favourite dance so far. Thankyou to everyone who has sent supporting messages! I loved it.
‘To everyone who wants to see what they want, your comments have real life consequences. I will not be overcome or lowered by your gossip.’
Miss Jones was previously married to fellow Strictly professional Neil Jones but the pair announced their separation shortly after she was seen kissing her celebrity partner, comedian Seann Walsh, during the 2018 series.
Last night actor Greg Wise and his partner Karen Hauer became the third couple to be voted off the show.
