GWYNETH Paltrow claims to have the formula for a good night’s sleep – and all it takes is £979 and a little passion.

The lifestyle guru – who has peddled advice on everything from beauty regimes to diet and sex – has complied a pricey guide on the products you need to help you rest better.

The list features her Goop products, including expensive bath salts, oils and probiotics. And she also revealed an orgasm before bed is one of the best ways to relax.

Miss Paltrow, 49, believes in ‘clean sleeping’ – meaning she tries to create a routine by going to sleep at the same time every day, meditates and does not eat or drink too much alcohol before getting into bed.

In her evening routine, she uses her £91 Goopglow scrub before getting in a bath filled with The Martini bath soak, which costs £25.

She then uses the Goopgenes face cream, face oil and eye cream before popping a

probiotic and a sleep chew if she is ‘stressed’ – all at a total cost of £264. The actress, who starred in Iron Man, also used £6 floss and a £14 lip balm.

She claimed she gets into bed at 8.30pm with her husband Brad Falchuk, 50, who is a writer and producer, and burns her £52 Edition 02 – Shiso candle.

Miss Paltrow said that ‘even though you’re not supposed to’, the couple usually watch Netflix before bed. She keeps her £23 Lover’s Oil and £20 Sex Oil – ‘the perfect lubricant to use during intimacy’ – on her bedside table as Falchuk will ‘always ask to rub my shoulders’. On the table are also a £10 glass for water and £69 reading glasses.

When asked if she believes orgasms help with sleep, she replied: ‘Yes, I really believe that. With an orgasm, you relax. You can’t be thinking about anything else. You’re a total mammal at that point.’

Miss Paltrow added she is ‘normally naked’ in bed, adding: ‘Brad and I are big cuddlers. Lots of skin-to-skin.’ But when she does wear pyjamas, she recommended the Goop striped short sleeve shirt and short set, priced at £152. She also wears a £36 black silk eye mask.

The mother-of-two – who was talking in the wake of the release of her Netflix show Sex, Love and Goop – also monitors her sleep using the £217 Oura ring which is a ‘comprehensive wellness tracker’. Her wellbeing empire previously offered advice on how to enjoy a date night in lockdown with 17 essential items available at Goop which would set couples back £2,992 – without food and drink.

And in February she offered advice on how to combat long Covid – but this was also criticised as the tips cost £2,000.

Miss Paltrow has also been questioned in the past after endorsing jade eggs for the vagina to improve health – an unsubstantiated claim which resulted in the company having to pay out more than £100,000 in civil penalties.
