Doping ban for McBride
BRITISH Paralympic rider Erin McBride has been banned for three years from all sports for failing a drugs test.
The visually impaired athlete, 23, tested positive for banned substance ostarine in March. Ostarine is typically used to gain muscle and burn fat.
McBride was initially suspended in April and then charged in August, ruling her out of the Paralympics in Tokyo.
Katie Archibald won Britain’s first gold medal of the Track World Championships in the omnium last night. The Scottish rider won three of the four races in the multi-discipline event in France to collect the fourth world title of her career.
