Callum and Kai told to step it up

- By MATT BARLOW

THOMAS TUCHEL has challenged Callum Hudson-Odoi and Kai Havertz to fill Chelsea’s attacking void. Both players have been frustrated by limited appearances this season but with Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic injured, they can seize their chance against Norwich today. ‘It’s a big opportunity,’ said Chelsea boss Tuchel. ‘Now is the moment to step up. It’s as simple as that. This is what they are waiting for. Now they have the responsibility, it’s up to them.’ Hudson-Odoi has played only two Premier League games this season and Tuchel wants to see the gifted 20-year-old perform with fewer peaks and troughs. ‘It will only be a turning point if he does not just have one good match, but does it consistently,’ said the German. It was a similar message for 22-yearold Havertz (right). ‘There is only one way to make the team and that’s performance,’ said Tuchel. ‘Kai was not at his highest level, so it was necessary he waited.’ Tuchel offered no details on the severity of Lukaku and Werner’s injuries other than to also rule them out of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup tie with Southampton. ‘They are both in treatment and feeling positive,’ he said. ‘They are out of the next two games for sure.’ ANTOINE GRIEZMANN has

stepped up post-career plans to become a top agent after his company appointed former Manchester United striker Terry Gibson, 58, to build a Premier League foothold. The Atletico Madrid forward, a World Cup winner with France in 2018 who has rejoined from Barcelona, will take control of his By&For agency once he retires and plans to make his mark in England with the help of La Liga pundit Gibson.
