HE was the wild boy frontman of the 1980s New Romantic movement, with a string of hit singles and a model girlfriend to boot. Unlike many of his fellow pop stars, however, it seems Simon Le Bon has discovered the secret to maintaining an enduring marriage in the showbusiness spotlight. The Duran Duran singer and his wife Yasmin looked as smitten as ever as they posed on the red carpet on Monday night – 37 years after they were first pictured together at a party for pop group the Thompson Twins in 1984. The couple wound back the years as they attended the Music Industry Trust Awards in London. Former Vogue cover girl Mrs Le Bon, 57, looked stylish in green flared trousers, a white jacket and a yellow top which she teamed with red heels and a leopard print handbag. Meanwhile 63-year-old Le Bon – whose hits include Is There Something I Should Know and Girls On Film – wore

a blue suede blazer, black trousers and a grey leopard print scarf.

The couple met in 1984 after Le Bon spotted his wife-to-be – then Miss Parvaneh – in a magazine and tracked her down via her model agent, declaring: ‘I had to have her.’

They married in Oxford in December 1985 and went on to have three daughters: Amber, now 32, Saffron, 30, and Tallulah, 27.

In 2018 their first grandson, Taro, was born, followed by granddaughter Skye in 2019.

Speaking about their marriage in 2010, Le Bon told Mirror Online: ‘I guess I’m very lucky that I picked somebody really bloody good in the first place.

‘She’s great fun, fantastic, beautiful and we laugh all the time. It’s not always easy at all. But I really want to stay married for life.’ Mrs Le Bon, who appeared in Duran Duran’s latest video for their song Anniversary, has previously claimed that the secret to their longevity was spending time apart. In a 2015 interview with Red Magazine, she joked she would have ‘murdered him’ if she had ‘lived in [his] pocket’.
