Bobbi-Anne ‘the victim of stranger abduction’

- By Alex Ward and Rebecca Camber

A COLLEGE student found dead after a three-day missing-person appeal was the victim of a stranger abduction, it was feared last night.

Bobbi-Anne McLeod, 18, was last seen at a bus stop on the way to meet her boyfriend in Plymouth on Saturday evening.

Some of the teenager’s possessions, including her AirPod headphones, were found at the bus stop. Her phone was found by a member of the public and handed to police.

Police have arrested two men, aged 24 and 26, on suspicion of murder. Neither is believed to have known Miss McLeod.

It is understood police are problife ing whether there was a sexual element to the murder.

Miss McLeod’s body was found in woodland in Bovisand, south Devon, about a 25-minute drive from where she went missing, on Tuesday afternoon.

Formal identification is yet to take place but her family have been kept abreast of developments.

The teenager’s family and friends paid tribute to her last night.

Her brother Lee said: ‘To have you as my little sister, the adventure and journey we had been on will always be treasured.’

Amanda Isaacs, 34, a close family friend, added: ‘She was such a lovely little girl and what happened to her has affected the whole of Plymouth.

‘She was only 18 and had her whole ahead of her. What else can I say apart from “RIP beautiful girl”. It is every parent’s worst nightmare. When we were searching, we still had hope and you don’t think the worst is going to happen.

‘But sadly, this is beyond our worst fears. It is so difficult to take it all in. The whole neighbourhood will never be the same again.’

Local resident Stuart Fullard said he saw Miss McLeod as he passed the bus stop on Saturday evening.

It is believed Miss McLeod was due to take the No50 bus across Plymouth to see her boyfriend Louie Leach, 17.

Mr Fullard, 54, said: ‘I was driving past the bus stop about Saturday tea time and I saw a young girl sat there, beside two older people either side of her. I wouldn’t have thought anything of it but I thought she was dressed very distinctively in cut jeans and fishnet tights.

‘I actually thought she looked so young and did not realise she was 18. She did not look like she had a care in the world when I saw her.’

A police spokesman said inquiries were continuing ‘at pace’.
