Incredibly, it came on the day it was revealed that 50,000 cancer sufferers went undiagnose­d during the pandemic – many because family doctors offered only virtual appointmen­ts. Some will die needlessly.

Doctors swear a solemn vow to do everything within their powers to preserve life; shunning their own clinics is not part of the Hippocrati­c Oath.
