Met chief must go over dead sisters photos, says mother
THE mother of two murdered sisters has called on Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick to quit over her force’s handling of the case.
Nicole Smallman, 27, and Bibaa Henry, 46, were stabbed to death in a London park in June last year. But Met PCs Deniz Jaffer and Jamie Lewis, who were protecting the crime scene, shared photographs of their bodies on WhatsApp.
They admit misconduct in a public office and face sentencing next month.
The victims’ mother, Mina Smallman, said on ITV yesterday: ‘How on earth could you do that? I have flashes of what I think that picture is. It took me to the depths of darkness.’
She added: ‘This is not a one-off. You don’t start breaching your position with this being your first move.’
Mrs Smallman dismissed Dame Cressida’s public apology as ‘the worst presentation – she was shaking like a leaf’, and added: ‘It’s time for her to go.’
A Met spokesman said the force ‘deeply regretted’ the additional distress.
