Boyfriend gets RNLI on board for proposal

AN RNLI volunteer called upon the help of his colleagues to ensure his wedding proposal made a decent splash.

Aaron Rix was celebrating his 30th birthday with partner Katie Fisher at a restaurant in Looe, Cornwall.

The town’s RNLI crew then drifted past in their inshore lifeboat on Wednesday.

A Looe team spokesman said: ‘Katie looked out of the window to see our RNLI crew... holding a large banner, “Will you marry me, Katie Fisher?”’ Thankfully Mr Rix said Miss Fisher, 25, a trainee nurse, said yes.
