Should Covid vaccination be compulsory?

-

WITH the increase in rates of Covid infection across Europe, calls are increasing here to emulate the vaccine apartheid of other countries. In Austria, the unvaccinated can work in restaurants, but not eat in them. I am vaccinated and not worried about a minority remaining unvaxxed, but the behaviour of those picketing schools is dangerous for children’s health. The protests of militant anti-vaxxers are encouraging fair-minded folk to endorse the very totalitarian state they think exists.

BARRY TIGHE, Woodford Green, East London.

EVERY nation is vaccinating their population as a priority. Zealots who picket schools in a bid to persuade other people not to get vaccinated are irresponsible. As well as peddling unfounded nonsense, they are jeopardising the chance to put the pandemic behind us. I am also angry with the Government for not nipping such dangerous disinformation in the bud.

I SUPPORT Dr David Lloyd’s call for compulsory jabs for all adults (Mail). I believe the daily Covid statistics should be broken down into those who are vaccinated and unvaccinated.

PETER BALL, Malmesbury, Wilts.

IN THE same edition of the Mail, Dr David Lloyd advocates mandatory Covid jabs for all adults while Dr Martin Scurr calls for antibody tests for unvaccinated healthcare workers. If they have immunity they would be able to keep their jobs. Even though I am triple vaccinated, I prefer Dr Scurr’s position to Dr Lloyd’s unreasonable and frightening view, which smacks of police checks. It certainly shows the level of disagreement in medical circles.

ALAN STEAD, Loftus, N. Yorks.

I FULLY agree with Dr David Lloyd that vaccination should be mandatory for the benefit of the majority.

DEREK HOLLEY, Huntingdon, Cambs.
